Revelation Nyirongo is a DevOps Engineer at UbuntuNet Alliance, where he leads the technical implementation of continental-scale scholarly communication infrastructure across Eastern and Southern Africa. He manages the technical architecture and operations of AfricArXiv systems that leverages partners’ PID assignment to ensure global discoverability of African research outputs, serving 100,000+ users across 15 National Research and Education Networks. Revelation oversees the technical integration of persistent identifier systems with research platforms, enabling seamless metadata management and citation workflows for African researchers. His work includes implementing OAI-PMH harvesting protocols, metadata standardization, and interoperability frameworks that connect African research outputs to global discovery systems including Google Scholar and OpenAIRE.
Revelation holds an MBA in IT Project Management and a BSc in Mathematical Sciences. His technical expertise spans cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, and scholarly communication systems, with a focus on building interoperable research infrastructure that bridges local needs with global scholarly networking standards. He provides direct engineering assistance to member institutions for implementing their own repository systems and establishing metadata workflows that integrate with international scholarly communication standards. His work demonstrates how regional technical coordination can enhance the global visibility and impact of research from underrepresented regions.
